A transgender woman, short for male-to-female. Considered incorrect by some, because it implies that trans women were originally men, which is considered cissexist.

MtF is short for Male to Female, meaning that someone who was assigned male at birth has gone through surgery to be female since they are happier that way.
Oh, Sarah's MtF, so she's definitely coming to the pride parade.

This terminology is often used especially within the military (I.E. if someone gives out a list or set of instructions that are subject to change at any time, they end it with "more to follow").

Ftm & Mtf are shortened ways of saying "Female To Male" Or "Male To Female"
These terms are used for those of the trans community who are not their assigned gender at birth.
But I must mention that there are other types of being Transgender as it is an umbrella term.
