obviousism

An explanation offered with little clarity, to which the listener is met with a scoff and expression of disdain when requesting further detail.

The hour long discussion was full of obviousisms that left all, but one, feeling inadequate.

obviously there is no truth to it

β€˜UMM IT’S A FUNNY THING. PEOPLE CAN BELIEVE WHAT THEY WANT TO BELIEVE... (further on in the interview) BUT OBVIOUSLY THERE IS NO THRUTH TO IT OBVIOUSLY’ ~ louis tomlinson.

how does he expect us to even slightly believe that. this is a quote from an interview that has been recently taken down πŸ˜ƒ. this was to TRY to deny larry stylinson (ship between louis tomlinson and harry styles) but it OBVIOUSLY did not work because non of us larries were convinced πŸ˜ƒ. antis try to come at us with this interview as proof but after they see it not even they can believe how bad both of them are at lying.

me: larry is fake. OBVIOUSLY THERE IS NO TRUTH TO IT OBVIOUSLY

my friend who is fed up with me quoting 1d and larry but now knows everything: all payne no liam

Well, Obviously

A phrase that is use to state something that is already apparent, but in order to draw additional attention to it. Used for dramatic effect, or to emphasize an important point. It is said in a loud manner, at the beginning of a sentence, followed by the fact that needs additional attention.

Popularized by Antoine Dodson, who used the phrase to increase awareness of the fact that there was a rapist in his neighborhood.

Since that time, use of this phrase has been increasing, and it can be used at any time, when an obvious fact needs to be pointed out.

"Well, obviously, we have a rapist in Lincoln Park." - Antoine Dodson

Other examples in common speech:

Janine: What happened to my money I left on the bar?
Bruce: Well, Obviously, we have a thief in Snuffy's Bar.
Janine: Oh wait, I spent it all on wine.
Bruce: Well, obviously, someone has drank too much.

Obviously Blind

An adjective describing someone who, it is plain to see, can't see. Sometimes hard to distinguish between this, and a moron

Note: Sometimes confused with blindingly obvious

*Thud*

Foolish Guy: "Hey, why does that guy keep walking into walls?"

Cool, wise guy: "Well he's obviously blind... Well, that or he's just a moron"
