When you don't show up for work, but do not call in sick or take a vacation day.

The goal is for no one to notice or question you, thus resulting in a free day off.

WARNING: May result in termination from job if caught.

- Hey man shouldn't you be at work right now?

- No I didn't feel like going, but I don't have any vacation time, so I'm just office spacing

Office Space Effect

(Noun) The fictional effect depicted in the movie Office Space wherein one is driving on the highway. The lane that you are currently in is moving slowly or not at all, but the lane next to you is going along just fine. You switch lanes, and then the new lane comes to a stop while the lane you were just in begins to move.

Driver: Argh! Why is this lane not moving? All the other ones are!

Passenger: Well why don't you switch lanes?

*Switches lanes and that lane stops*

Driver: We're still not getting anywhere and now that other lane is moving! Damn Office Space Effect!!!

Office Space Syndrome

Suddenly and inexplicably not giving a fuck at work and life in general. Often caused be completing a huge project or being blasted by a superior. A reference to the 1999 Mike Judge comedy 'Office Space', in which case the cause was hypnosis.

Employee 1: "Now that the Milkowski case is over, I have the best case of Office Space Syndrome. Let's grab a Beer."
Employee 2: "It's 9am."
Employee 1: "DGAF Nation!"
Employee 2: "Fuck it, I'm in."
