As penniless children when we were hoping for some free handouts and when biscuits were sold loose from large tins of biscuits we would ask the local grocer if they had any free broken biscuits (which couldn’t be sold) or we might ask “ have you got owt for nowt?” at a jumble sale or a fair.

Na gid owt is what you say when your mate asks you for the Xbox controller you simply say
“Na gid owt”
“Can you pass me the Xbox controller”
“Na gid owt”
