An F in pop culture

An expression someone uses to claim they no little/nothing about celebrities, movies, TV, current events, music and other related topics.

I don't want to watch the Bill and Ted show at Universal guys, I won't get the references, because I have an F in pop culture.

pop-culture sponge

A person who soaks-up popular culture like a sponge.

Absorbing trends and styles wherever you are then rinsing them out to keep only the things you really like.

Aesthetically aware and sensitive.

A cool-hunter is actually another name for a professional pop-culture sponge.

A pop-culture sponge, soaks up the styles and trends wherever he/she go.

When you pay attention to and absorb your surroundings from a cultural point of view you are literally a pop-culture sponge...just make sure you digest and wring out the things you dont need and dont want to keep.

pop culture moron

1) A person of above average intelligence whose knowledge of current events is limited to what they see on MTV and VH1.

2) A person more likely to know the names of the past winners on Survivor than they are the names of the justices on the United States Supreme Court.

Mike: Hey Steve, what's the name of that guy on the TV show Kitchen Nightmares?

Steve: That would be Gordon Ramsey.

Mike: When did he become Prime Minister of Great Britain?

Steve: He didn't, that's Gordon Brown.

Mike: Oh.

Steve: You're a pop culture moron!

Pop culture sheep

Pop culture sheep are those who use phrases and body language aligned with mainstream Hollywood. They are easily influenced by tabloidism derived from mainstream media and are unable to effectively research current events, objectively think for themselves, or be individuals.

Alice said CNN told her <insert bullshit CNN said> and went on a rant about racism in the US. I asked her if she verified that information by cross-referencing multiple news sources but she just dabbed and said, "I'm not about that life." What a pop culture sheep.

Pop Culture Syndrom

When a unique, independent individual usually between the ages 12-25 gets rapidly sucked into the empty void of what's popular among the masses. Symptons include, but are not limited to, owning an iPod Nano new generation, listening to Eminiem, Kanye West, Ke$ha, etc., believing autotune to be "talent," having the irresistable urge to shop at Hot Topic, thinking you're an epic fan of a band because you play their Guitar Hero song over and over again, and either being a Justin Bieber fan or a "hater" who says he's gay despite not evening have heard of him.

I recently lost my ex-best friend to Pop Culture Syndrom.

Paranormal Pop Culture

Any trend or entry in popular culture or mainstream entertainment that focuses on the supernatural, paranormal or unexplained. Example: ghosts, paranormal investigations, psychics, cryptozoology, UFOs, aliens, vampires, monsters, zombies. First usage was July 2009 by writer Aaron Sagers, who calls himself a "paranormal pop culture expert"

Because it combines the pursuit of the supernatural in a mass media format, 'Ghost Hunters' on the Syfy channel is a hit Paranormal Pop Culture TV show.
