A term coined by Derek Bell of the Toronto Blue Jays during the 1992 World Series defining ones reserves or bench players as super fans or cheerleaders, supporting their teammates to the fullest extent from the front or rails of the dugout.
Occasionally, members of said trenches are called upon to perform the duties of the starting players and contribute to their fullest extent.

The feeling of loss, when the band Twenty One Pilots TØP has finished gigging in your locality and moves on to its next location... and you’re not following them. You feel exhausted, euphoric with what you’ve experienced and the Skeleton Clique friends you’ve made... but you are rapidly shifting to a state of exhaustion and tearful realisation that, for you, that party has rolled away from you and on to the next gig - and that you and your clothes stink from camping out before the gig.

A sub-genre of dubstep focussing on a more minimalistic and flow-oriented sound, often described as repetitive. Usually incorporates dark atmospheric elements, metallic bass sounds and four on the floor drum patterns. Is also popularly referred to as 'riddim,' however a large movement campaigning for the use of the word 'trench' was recently spearheaded by German artist INFEKT, with other notable artists in the scene showing support as well.
Infekt is probably one of the greatest trench artists out there imo
