As job is to career, so blow job is to blow career--someone who gives "blow careers" has almost taken oral sex to an extreme level, pursuing it as if there's some sort of reward in the afterlife for people who give that much head.

To choose a college major or enroll in a training program for a job field or profession that is desperate for applicants and is hiring like crazy but by the time you complete your education/training the market for your skill has become saturated and nobody is hiring.
Before I enrolled in college there was a shortage of electrical engineers,they were hiring like crazy and making top dollar.Four years later I have my degree but all the jobs have been filled.I just got career-holed .
