Freshers decline

1) The trend of university freshers getting shitter each year, i.e. participating in less extra-curricular activity, going out less, lowered promiscuity

2) The trend seen with university clubs and societies, in which attendance from fresher members of the group declines to negligible levels over the semester(s)

fresher's tolerance

a temporary increase in alcohol tolerance coupled with a temporary decrease in the amount of sleep required to function, experienced during fresher's week of university

person 1: "how are you surviving? we've been plastered everyday and only had 7 hours sleep this whole week"
person 2: "fresher's tolerance, innit?"

Fresher spread

Three meanings all used interchangeably:

1. Like fresher-five : gain weight hence spread

2. Fresher flu - flu which spreads like wild fire because freshers can’t keep their hands to themselves

3. Freshers ‘spreading of legs’

Returner Grace: gee John that fresher spreads hitting you hard, I swear you’re twice the size since I last saw you!
Fresher John: Fresher spreads got me in more ways than one. I’m sick as a dog.
