Karma is the Hindu and Buddhist philosophy according to which the quality of people’s current and future lives is determined by their behavior in this and in previous lives. Good behavior is rewarded with goodness in life, and bad behavior is punished.
It is something like God: it takes one to be a believer to experience it and be convinced of it.
In today's world though, the applicability of karma is limited only to the current life, since future lives are more a matter of speculation.
A good intermix of right and wrong actions may help you establish a theory of karma for your personal use.

I shattered this guy's windows and my house burned to the ground the very next day. The guy showed up to me and said it was karma before spitting in my face and kicking me in the nuts.

What goes around come around. Karma is a belief of the religion, Buddhism. If you do a bad deed, it's said to come back around and get you. There is good Karma too, however, which works with basically the same rules, except if you do a good deed, good'll come back to YOU.

the score on gamefaqs.com your username gets. you earn 1 karma for each day your account is active. higher karma amounts allow you to post more messages per day, have access to more social boards, bragging rights, etc... You lose karma when one of your messages gets moderated, the amount lost per message depends on the severity of the violation and how much of an d-bag the moderator is.
that asshole mod gave me a 3 karma loss for my topic!!!
