A term discovered by Bill O'Reilly towards the end of an unaired Inside Edition taping. At the time, Bill was an anchor for Inside Edition from 1989 to 1993 so the meltdown occurred in the middle of his tenure and days after the release of Sting's The Soul Cages. Used to describe a musical accompaniment for a stage exit.

Bill: "I don't know what that means; "To play us out." What does that mean? ...To end the show?
Producer: "Yeah. Yeah."
Bill: "Alright. Go. Go!"
Producer: "In 5, 4, 3..."

when somebody pretends to care and interacts or plays with you for their benefit and could really care less about you

Played the Cigarette Out of My Hand

When someone beats you a contest or game (usually cards) extremely badly. Originating from the game Shithead, where one can be made to pick up so many cards that they must put their cigarette down to hold them all.

“Matthew is way too lucky, he’s played the cigarette out of my hand!”

Played out

when something is obviously fake or fraudulent. As if it was written as a play for a stage, and then its 'played out'. It's 'acted out'.

Man1: "Man hollywood pedophiles been doing this shit for years, and nobody's talking about it"
Man2: "Yeah man it's played out"
Man1: "What do you mean, cuzz?"
Man2: "I mean they're all in on it, it's a performance, nobody is going to stop it because the people who can stop it are in on it."
