"Skill Issue" is a phrase or term often used and inserted into conversations regarding video games or other media. The phrase is used to deem a failure or other similar scenario where the player is not successful and they proceed to blame it on the factors of the game or their opponents, when it is in fact, their fault. It can be used both as a genuine criticism of someone's skill, or ironically when it is in fact a factor completely out of their control to serve as a joke. It can also be used in real-life scenarios or other forms of non-video game media, where it is used as a video game related substitute to make a statement ironically or humorously.
Scenario 1: Genuinely
Person 1: Dude, how did I die there? That guy's got to be hacking! That's unfair
Person 2: I dunno, seems like a skill issue.
Scenario 2: Sarcastically/Ironically
Person 1: What? My internet just went out and I got disconnected! That sucks!
Person 2: (Sarcastically) Skill Issue.
Scenario 3: Unrelated to game
Person 1: Wow, I did not expect Iron Man to die at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
Person 2: (Mockingly) Iron Man had a Skill Issue, just don't die, LOL.

Usually said ironically after something godawful happens in a game that is outside player control. Alternatively, when a player is doing something obviously incorrectly and blames the game, that is unironically a skill issue.
"man, I keep getting rolled by awful RNG"
"seems like a skill issue" -Ironic
"My opponents keep playing 1e4 in my chess games, it's the best move and so I can't win unless they blunder"

"Skill issue" is something people say to someone when they complain about something out of their control, mainly in video-games.
Don't say this if you don't want to be annoying. Most people who say this are young teenage boys trying to be funny, but fun fact; it's not after saying it 50 times.
The origin (I think) is from a line in Overwatch where D.Va, a character in the game, says, "It's a skill issue" after eliminating someone.
