L:

The greatest emoticon ever made. It refers to Edward Cullen's (of the novel Twilight by Stephenie Meyer) crooked smile. Usually used by twi-hards. Sometimes interjected to start a Twilight related discussion or just to spread the love of Edward.

Person 1: God I love Edward L:
Person 2: IKR?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

L

Also known as a "BLUNT." This slang term originated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The habitual pot smokers in Pittsburgh are known for being stubborn and almost ALWAYS smoking their weed out of a blunt. (A blunt is a hollowed out cigar filled with marijuana.) They began using the term "L" because of the resemblence of the blunt and a lower-case L in the alphabet.

It's an L

Common expression spoken by the twenty-something kids these days, with little to no apparent meaning in the real world. You know you're on the right track, when you ask WTF is meant by "It's an L" and the response that you receive is "It's an L." The etymological theory is that this expression could be perhaps some kind of spin-off of the ever-intelligent expression "It's Lit." However, scientists have still yet to confirm this.

Kid: "Yeah, but, like, it's an L on their part. Whatever."
You: "Wat."
Kid: "It's an L."
You: "Wat."
