A quiet little town with cute little shops and a low crime rate. People complain about what Montrose has to offer, but never mention the fact it is conveniently located 20 minutes from Binghamton, New York and 30 minutes from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Montrose is a great place to raise a family. It is a secure, safe town with friendly people and barely any traffic. Montrose has low pollution rates, trails to bike or hike, lakes, a great outdoors scene in general, and many little festivals like the Blueberry Festival and the Chocolate and Wine festival. The only downfall of Montrose are the young haters who think they belong in Cali ( more like Jersey). If they don't like Montrose, then leave. Surprise surprise, they can't, because they wasted their highschool education getting drunk, getting high, getting abortions, and writing bunk rhymes. Or, they are just plan lazy.
Montrose, PA is the perfect place to raise a family. It is nestled inbetween two cities, and people who work hard either towards a satisfying career or towards an education can find jobs in areas with a low cost of living. Montrose has a lot to offer if you have a little imagination and a little bit of energy.
Overall, Montrose is a nice town with nice people, but everywhere you go you will run into the occasionally "my life sucks because of Montrose, not because I'm a loser."
(i.e the previous definition about Montrose was written by one of these haters who probably can't remember the last time they read a book)

Every dip that lives there is dirt poor. Two words: trailer park. If you own anything nice, you don't live in Waynesboro. So many people are in debt your credit score will go up by just passing through.
And can anyone tell me what crawl in that town and died? What ever it is they must eat it, because they all reek of septic juices.
The only advice I can give you is drive around Waynesboro. Avoid it like the plague.
Basically never go to Waynesboro unless you want to get AIDS from a McFlurry served to you by a gothic, blimp sized, tattoo wrapped, teenager.
Person 1: I was in Waynesboro, PA yesterday!
Person 2: Never speak to me again.

A very depressed town with very little money or business. Located in the hills very similar to a west virginia town. Well known for the hookstown fair, which is fairly large and the entire town attends. Very friendly people, but very high levels of alcoholism. There is nothing to do in this area, so many people drink for entertainment. Country music is the only music listened to. This is not the place to go for anything with a touch of prestige. Not the place to go to find beautiful people. Tons of disfunctional families live in this area.
Hookstown, pa is the West Virginia or Kentucky of PA.

A centuries-old town in rural Pennsylvania that exploded in population during the immigrant boom of the late 1800's/early 1900s. Main industry until the late 20th Century was coal mining. It was renamed "Coal Township" in the late 20th Century to reflect the influence of the coal industry on it's local politics. It's rumored that the name "Shamokin" is an old Native American term meaning "welcome." It's further rumored that Shamokin was built on the site of a friendly Native American village. People from Shamokin have their own lingo and are usually hardcore.
Tom: "OMG Johnny just got his legs severed in a freak mining accident!"
Johnny: "I'm from Shamokin, PA. I'll walk it off."

A small shitty town in Pennsylvania. The people there pretend to be from some place else unless they are rich.
I say I'm from Sinking Spring, PA when I'm actually from Reading.
