Groundhog Day Disorder

A lightweight sounding but serious mental illness that consumes some people to the point of living for that single day of the year when Punxsutawney Phil emerges from his hidden place; what’s worse is the full picture of obsessive preparation often leading to ruinous financial consequences and severe social isolation that sometimes accompanies this devastating disorder.

Somehow I never suspected that my brother was suffering from Groundhog Day Disorder, but when we found out, it all came together and answered so many previously unanswered questions.

selective finding disorder

A curious disorder predominantly affecting the male gender that when their wife, girlfriend or mother is under the same roof or within yelling distance they suddenly become incapable of finding any of their own or shared belongings. Such as keys, remote controls, phones, chargers etc.

When Selective Finding Disorder (SFD) hits, this man is easily upset often resulting in child like temper tantrums that commonly engage an entire household in a frantic search to find this lost item. Most often finally being found in the SFD patients own pocket or right in front of his temporarily blinded eyes!

Note: Often associated with selective hearing

As DUDE leaves for work and quickly returns to the house yelling and screaming...

DUDE: Baby!!! Where are my keys?? I can't find them anywhere
BABY: Check your pockets!
DUDE: I Did... common help me find them
BABY: If I have to get up and look for you because of your Selective Finding Disorder and they end up

being in your pocket you are making dinner tonight!

Hamilton Obsessiveness Disorder

(aka H.O.D.) A disorder that is related to the famous broadway musical, "Hamilton". People suffering through this disorder tend to both consciously and unconsciously sing certain songs or excerpts from songs from this musical. Some symptoms include continuing sentences or answering questions in the same way as some Hamilton songs go, singing Hamilton non-stop, and nonstop talking about this broadway show. If you experience these symptoms, it is recommended that you see a doctor ASAP.

I feel so sorry for her, she has the Hamilton Obsessiveness Disorder.

Hyperactive Wiping Disorder

Each and every member of my family has, one by one, begun to manifest the compulsive and frightening symptoms of Hyperactive Wiping Disorder.

Posttraumatic Disneyland Disorder

An insidious and disturbing psychological disorder with onset after an especially protracted visit to Disneyland which causes the sufferer to believe that everything that’s happening in their life, long after leaving the Happiest Place on Earth, is actually part of a ride or an attraction which results in the person having a permanently surreal perspective that leads to emotional numbness, depersonalization and high risk behavior.

As he headed for the cliffside running as fast as he could push himself, I realized way too late that he was engulfed in a full-blown state of Posttraumatic Disneyland Disorder and that it was highly unlikely he would live through the upcoming 250 foot drop onto the rocks below!

Posttraumatic Asshole Disorder

A mental illness characterized by sudden flashbacks of highly disturbing exchanges that occurred between yourself and a toxic “ex” whom you cannot help but think of as an insufferable asshole.

Of course there are some very specific triggers that can and do cause me to realize I suffer with some degree of Posttraumatic Asshole Disorder!
