Rent DvDs
Ripp DvDs
Re-sale DvDs

Ex:

Go to any place that rents movies, rent some, slap that shiet into your computer and start ripping them. There you go, no need to pay $20 for DvDs anymore.

10 foot rule

When you see a customer within 10 feet of you, you ask them if they need assistance. This applies to employees at retail stores like Wal*mart.

Bob (a Walmart associate) is stocking shelves in the chemical department, and he notices a customer about 6 feet away looking at the air-fresheners. Bob uses the "10 foot rule": "How are you today sir? I notice you're looking at the air-fresheners today." Customer: "Yes sir. I see you have new Glade candles scents for the fall season." Bob: "Why yes we do. We have 4 new scents to choose from, and we also have them in the spray forms, as well as the plug-in oil refills." The associate used the 10 foot rule very well resulting in a happy customer who will most likely continue to shop there time and time again.

5 minute rule

A common texting agreement between two or more acquaintances that after a 5 minute period with no reply, you must accept the fact that the person you are trying to reach does not want to talk to you. After this 5 minute period, you may not re-send your message, send a new one, call, or apologize for interrupting their meeting. This agreement is usually made official by means of contract, or simply by not disagreeing when the rule is suggested.

Man 1: Hey man 2, lets go to the club man!

Man 2: Ahh man I can't, im waiting for Katie to reply.

Man 3: Dammit Man 2, you've been waiting for Katie to reply for at least 6 minutes now. 5 minute rule dude.

5 second rule

Contrary to the belief, it is actually 5 seconds from when you see the food that you may consume it without it being dirty or at all harmful to your body because, come on, it's only been five seconds.

"Sweet! A cheeto!"
"Dude, that's been there for 3 days."
"But I just saw it, like, 3 seconds ago. 5 second rule yo."

England Header Rule

Enough of this bullshit irony.

In Euro 2004, the only person Sol Campbell fouled to score his perfectly legitimate winning goal against Portugual (which was subsequently disallowed) was *his own team-mate* - i.e. John Terry.

Urs Meier the referee deserved everything he got after that.

The so-called "England Header Rule" is a cynical attempt to deny the achievements of our Football team.

the simple power rule

A mathematical rule useful for finding the derivative or instantaneous rate of change of a function that involves the form y = x^n. If n = 0, then the rate of change is zero, since any number x raised to the zero power is 1. To find the derivative when n is some other number other than 0, simply pull down the exponent n, multiply the entire function by n, then subtract 1 from the exponent after you pull n down and multiply. Basically:
1) y = x^n
2) y' = nx^n-1 (y' means take the derivative of the function with respect to x, so use the simple power rule!)

Piece of cake! One of the most helpful rules in calculus, because if you didn't have the simple power rule, then you would have to use the general form for a derivative, which takes alot longer than the method above.

Try these out! Just take the derivative as described above!

y = 3x^(-2)
y'= -6/(x^3)

y = 12x^0
y'= 0

y = 3x^(1/2)
y'= (3/2)x^(-1/2) or 3/2 times 1/squareroot of x

rules 1 and 2

Part of the "rules of the internet", made in early 2006 by someone in the /b/ section of 4chan who fancies the site a secret underground.

Due to the /b/ section being overrun with users from sites such as Gaia Online and MySpace, these rules were accepted, and more people took part in the illusion that 4chan is a SUPAR SECRAT CLOBHAUS. Despite the fact that these two rules state that you shouldn't talk about /b/, some people will cite "RULES 1 AND 2!!" every time 4chan (or even a meme) is mentioned outside of the site.

Thankfully, this vermin of stupidity remains contained in /b/, so people who cite rules 1 and 2 in other boards are bound to get flamed and hopefully banned.

*4chan Steam group is mentioned in a /v/ thread*
