Essentialy, the song is about the writer not being valued, her parents misusing her, and generally wanting to dissappear from the world, therefore, this is a ''goodbye'' song as opposed to the fact that the writer, in the context of this song, wants to commit suic#de.

Based on the alleged characteristic of the English who drift away from parties without really saying "goodbye"
