Screen Hawking

When a co-worker, or nosy individual, walks behind your computer/workstation, staring at your screen as they pass, to try and figure out what you're doing.

"I was working on my month end close, and Socially Akward Penguin kept walking behind me, screen hawking and mouth breathing"

Screen worm

Just like a book worm only you're nose deep in a computer screen, any other screen. A modern day 2020 covid-19 version of a book worm since people use zoom and other video conference apps.

Hugh: "Back in my day they called me a book worm. But you my dawg are a screen worm."
Ganus: "Ok boomer"

Squad screening

When 2 or more people simultaneously and intentionally start watching a movie or series together (e.g. as a form of spending time together) even though they are not in the same house, city or country

Last night my friend and I were squad screening a movie when my power went out and then she stopped watching too so we could both catch up at the same time when my power went back on again…

Privacy-Screen

A commonly used office device for your computer screen. Initially used for "privacy". Now more commonly used to goof off at work without having to worry as much about shoulder surfers or your boss checking what your working on.

My job has been so stressful lately, but now that I got this new privacy-screen I don't have to 'look' busy all day. It's great!

screen check

A "Screen Check" or "Screen Checking" is when a cop in a patrol vehicle brake checks when a suspect is handcuffed in the backseat. Due to the suspect being handcuffed, and hands not free to block, the suspects face will smash into the metal screen divider of the patrol car. This will cause cutting and bruising and sometimes a broken nose.

"He wasn't bloody when he left the scene. What did you do? Screen check him?"
"Oh, you know Sarg, those damn suicide squirrels."
