Excuse

A reason that isn't the one being looked for, however truthful it may be.

Don't give me excuses

excuses

1. Something people find for not important stuff.
2. To excuse one's self from a situation.

Teacher: "You're making the worst excuses to why your homework's not here."
Student: "But my dog ate it!"

Excuse

An excuse is just some persons reason for something and another person not agreeing with it (person not agreeing is the person calling things an excuse)

*over text*
Grandma: “Where are you?”

You: “School why?”

Grandma: “You did not go to school they called me. You missed three classes at school and you owe paper work and forms for me to sign that you have not handed in. Are you dropping out of school????”

You: “I was late that was why, it happened in Warwick multiple times. I have the paper work but you kinda haven't been home every single day I get home from school”

You (cont): “And no I'm not dropping out”

You (again): “Now I gotta go, I have global right now. I need to makeup work”

You attends class///

Grandma: “They will not keep you in school if you continue not to go. You can always put the paper work in my mailbox for me to sign. No excuses for this You, you need to attend classes in order to graduate and move on with your life. Think about it”

You: “I have been attending. It would be nice for me to have it quickly signed and I can take it where I’m staying so I can hand it in immediately, and it’s not excuses. It’s just me giving reasons that you don’t agree with or like”

Excuse

I don't need an excuse. It doesn't need to be justified.

Hym "I can just as easily say there is no excuse or justification for what is happening to me. But that would be lazy. And I know how much you hate laziness. So I'll just say I don't NEED an excuse. I have a REASON. And the REASON is the thing you are doing to me (in whatever terms you choose to describe it) that is unjustifiable and for which there is no excuse. So... I need to be made whole or your kids need to be made holey."
