University of Guelph

One of the best comprehensive universities in Canada as rated by Macleans Magazine. People who attend this university are usually very calm, cool & collected, down-to-earth hippies, who love their marijuana. It's also a major party school, with wild keggers, and a very open downtown party scene. Downtown Guelph is often affectionately referred to as the G-Spot by the students who attend the university. Guelph is a total university town & students of the University are very friendly & easy to get on with.

Person 1: "Dude those people are so nice!"

University of Virginia

See definitions for UVA, as the Va. Tech students who made those definitions struggled with the spelling of "university".

I go to the University of Virginia, and we really don't have anything against people who go to Va. Tech. However, they seem to dedicate their lives to fueling this one-sided rivalry.

Northwestern University

A prestigious school known to vary a lot in terms of programs. There are lots of organizations and the overall student fine arts are superb. They make for great campus productions. Degrees and grades depend greatly on program. There is a mix of very social and anti-social which is largely defined by major. Social scene is mainly greek as many students are involved in the system. Grading in Engineering is NOTORIOUS for being very low, adhering to the mantra that a C is an average grade which in turn makes it difficult for NU grads to compete for internships/CoOp's. Chemistry also has a slight problem with this. Other programs like Communications are known for A average classes. This makes the overall school GPA look more balanced, but still lower than most.

Students wear middle-end designer labels on nearly everything. People are middle/upper middle class for the most part, but some act above that. There are really two types of students who go to NU : those which it was their top choice, and those who it was there best choice. School pride is masked by designer labels and trends limited to the school. Most notable are the Northface fleece, Coach handbags, UGG Boots, and recently Vera Bradley totes. People may be very social, but never gain any new friends. Exceptions are usually only made if you include greek organizations. GDI's sometimes have to struggle to find a link to a traditional social scene without using the greek system.

Those who have school spirit year round are very passionate and can easily be picked out of a crowd in a game or other event.

The school spirit depends on how the sports teams do, which is usually not very well. The sports with the best teams are usually the sports least cared about.

Professors can be accessed, but will not pursue you. Office hours indicate how much the prof. cares about his/her students. Much of a student's grade can be determined by interest shown by the student, but there is no hand holding here. Class size is middle of the road, but much smaller than State schools.

The northwestern university marching band and the football players are the most school spirited groups of students on campus.

University of Guelph

Ontario university, formed in 1964 by the amalgamation of the Ontario Agricultural College, Ontario Veterinary College and the MacDonald Institute. Although best known for its focus on agriculture and life sciences, Guelph offers a wide range of programs, and has had a high rating in the recent Macleanโ€™s magazine ratings of Canadian universities.

The University of Guelph is an excellent institution for the study of life sciences (and for partying too!).

Christian Universalism

1. The most misunderstood form of Christianity.

2. Used as slang by Fundamentalists towards anyone who includes all people into salvation, and not just their small cult.

3. The original belief from Jesus time till the 500's when the Church became imperialized by Rome. Most Christians in the East and the West believed this, such as Pantaneus, Clement of Alexandria, Origen, St. Gregory of Nyssa, St. Macrina the Younger, Theodore Montepusa, Diodore of Tarsus, and other such figures. It is also believed that St. John Crystostom, St. Ambrose, St. Basil and St. Gregory Nazanieth. Both Augustine and Basil admitt that most Christians believed in Universal Salvation. The belief was deemed heretical because the emperor Justinian demanded a council to condemn the belief as a heresy in the 500's.

4. They believe that by Jesus death and resurrection, that all will eventually come to salvation. They study the bible in its original context and understand the original greek words in their original use, not the church defined use. Contrary to popular belief, Universalism does not in any way give one a free pass to sin, or underestimate Jesus work on the cross. They still believe in punishment, but not that it is endless and is for corrective purposes. In fact, Universalism is the only form of Christianity that teaches both an all powerful and all loving God who will get rid of sin once and for all, and died not for a few, but insured everyone salvation.

Christian Universalism is the most loving form of Christianity, because they act like the real Jesus, not this angry Jesus the traditionalist teach.
