Cheap, one-size-fits-all explanations about life. They consist of clichés, empty truisms and tautologies, and (often contradictory) platitudes.
Dime–stores were common in the early part of the 20th c. Every main street had such a store where you could buy tawdry, second-rate stuff for cheap prices. (Now they're Dollar stores, though these are not as common or a central fixture in every town.)
I run from the coffeehouse whenever that windbag shows up with his dime–store philosophy.
I'll take Crumb's cartoons over the banal musings of a dime-store philosopher any day.

A business that is open till 3am or later and is a hot spot for robberies,shootings, and outside drug sales. Protected by bullet glass the cashier serves orders through a carousel window and is a neighborhood favorite to buy a losey, a dutch, chicken wings or some General Tso's chicken.
"I'ma go to the chinese store to get some of them chicken wings".
"The big store tonight at 11 is a double shooting outside a Philadelphia Chinese store".

A place that freaking sucks I.E. the library that you and your friends renamed so that it would become socially acceptable go there more often
Men's Warehouse can be used for a place that kind of sucks but you don't really wanna go there either
