A tight bastard is someone who hates spending a lot of money. This is normally associated with Scottish people

Computers generally consist of a mother board with the CPU and basic I/O functions. Daughter boards add or enhance performance such as a SCSI controller or video card. Bastard boards are modified daughter boards that only work in one computer or a very specific hardware and software configuration.
