Doom Clone

Early 3D(-ish) FPS games that looked an played like Doom. A good example (and not a bad either) is Duke Nukem 3D.

Duke Nukem 3D can be considered a Doom Clone because the graphics and game play are similar to Doom.

Doom Bitch

Anyone who dates multiple people who die soon after kissing and/or sleeping with them. The people effected by the doom bitch usually have epic deaths, at least.

Mike: Yep. That was Tim's car?

Doomed Megalopolis

1. Something hopelessly beyond salvation. All your base are belong to someone else, and they have the deeds to all your base in a very firm grip. fubar.

2. Something terribly dissapointing. Worse than Rocky V. Worse than any Dolph Lundgren movie.

3. Any hypothetical or imaginary scapegoat for a problem. A not yet realized obstacle. In a situation where the negative effects of an unknown cause are being experienced, the unknown cause.

4. A terrible anime of the same name. The inspiration for all of these definitions. Worth watching.

1. No wonder your previous landlord billed you a G on top of the deposit he kept. I saw that place when you guys moved out, you vacated a Doomed Megalopolis, not an apartment.

2. In spite of the great things I heard about the first death scene in "Suspiria", that films' status as a Doomed Megalopolis is concrete in my book.

3. If someone hadn't told me about the strike, I would have guessed from the look of things that a fatal error had ocurred in our landfill's Doomed Megalopolis.

4. Even though its horrible, in its own way, the movie Doomed Megalopolis has something to teach us all.

doomity-doom

Originally coined by Invader Zim's malfunctioning SIR Unit, GIR, in the now classic "Doom Song", it has been adopted by humans aware of our own impending destruction. Whether our destruction comes by the Mighty Irken Invaders, our pissed off planet or by our own myopic stupidity, only time will tell.

It is the mental equivalent of Wile E. Coyote's umbrella

Meteor, Volcano, disease, pollution, all too much? Just say 'doomity-doom!' and embrace the DOOM!

Doom Effect

The "Doom Effect" occurs when a new electronic device, usually targeting consumers, is released and someone ports the id Software classic game DOOM to it. The only stated goal of doing so is to claim that DOOM can run on it. It is not done with the full intent that people will actually play the game on said device, just that it is technically possible.

The Doom Effect usually acts a marker for then next level of experimentation with said device.

is the practice of porting id Software's genre defining DOOM game to any new electronic device with a screen just to prove it it technically feasible.

"The Doom Effect was in full force with this port of DOOM to all Digita OS cameras."

or

"The Doom Effect struck again, porting the game to yet another unplayable device!
