The root of all the negroes. The short story of negroes, is as follows:
While one day, when thousands of white man worked at an oil refinery, one was fucking around by drilling holes too deep. All the white man were confused, and decided to check it out. That's when 5000 gallons of pure oil spat out of the hole, only to get ONE of the un-lucky white man, who later became permanently stained with the oil. He became furious because he was not white anymore, and started nigger staining everybody, and turning white people into what is now called "negroes". It is said until this day, nobody has found the original negro who was first stained.

polo shirts with v-neck sweaters on top, khaki pants, and boat shoes. Instead of consuming wine and hors d'ouevres like typical yacht billionaires, the yacht nigger consumes 40's and ribs and chittlins. Instead of smoking a pipe tobacco like a yacht snob he smokes a crack pipe.

Originally a term used during slave times for slaves who worked in the master's house on a plantation, it is now derisively used for Black people who are always trying to ingratiate themselves with their neo-conservative white "masters" by distancing themselves from everything Black, such as rap music.
House-niggers Condi Rice and Bill Cosby are always quick to point out that gangsta rap is part of "the problem" with Black people instead of acknowleding that it is a symptom of a conspiracy to keep young Black men in chains!

This is definitely one of those expressions that needs to be taken seriously and with the true roots in mind. It is not an expression that can change to suit OUR time. (Using the expression = bad, knowing it and philosophizing about it = good)
A formal definition: "a concealed motive or unknown factor affecting a situation in an adverse way." Or simply: "something suspicious or wrong."
Add this: Quite possibly during the Underground Railroad, assuming we're together on this that it was a good thing to help free slaves, a "nigger in the woodpile" was a good because they were in a hiding place because bad folks were about- There's no need to hide if all around were good people, supporting the Underground Railroad and its sympathizers!!! Soooooo, better to be in the woodpile than shackles! ...this complicates the meaning of the term, but good to think about.
Classic meaning: "Ever since the new boss has been here we've not known much about the company's restructuring, he's a nigger in the woodpile, I hope I'm not about to get fired!"
My theoretical meaning: "The new boss is a fucking asshole, I'm glad the human resource person is full of integrity, I know those of us who are good workers will be fine- we're like niggers in a woodpile around that asshole."
