One is arrogant and egotistical, and believes they are superior to others, for a reason that is petty, a reason that is questionable or based on opinion, or for being in a 'better' situation than others placed entirely on luck and not one's actual experiences (such as a parent's wealth).
As a result, they are prejudiced to those that they consider to be less 'elite'. To those that are of equal or higher status, they will either show more respect to, or envy.
Brandon is an elitist bastard, because he believes his desktop screenshot is better than anybody elses and makes fun of others because of it.

In Northern Ireland the term black bastards is usually used to describe members of the unionist community, in particular those who serve with the police. It can also refer to staunch loyalists of British rule and people from the unionist community. The name originates from the marching Loyal order called the Royal Black Institution.

I can't believe that Jake is a slimy bastard! I was sure he was a genuinely nice guy. The dude groped my dog's balls while I was watching him and made an excuse saying that he's totally straight and that he did it because the dog's balls looked like they were itching.
