A semiconscious state when you allow your creative mind to define a new (or redefine an existing) word or phrase related to the number π—for example, “pi in the sky” carries different meanings depending on the context.
By drifting into a pi reverie, be it by seeing what’s outside the window while pretending to listen to a sermon, or by staring into space or at the cloud in a posture of prayer, Ian has been blessed with a hundred-odd pi definitions on Urban Dictionary.

Someone who is prone to coining new words or phrases on or about the number π once their mind’s eye leads them to see how an apparently unrelated idea or concept within or outside math could be linked to the most famous constant in mathematics.
While writing the manuscript for “Never Write a Math Book Without π,” Ian has been struck with pi syndrome since the start of the pandemic.

When the frequency of the number π gracing the pages of reputable math journals took a dive during the pandemic, when both male and female mathematicians and math educators worldwide, working from home, felt half-productive or fell sick from Covid-19.
Guesstimate how many pure mathematicians globally had some mental health issues during the pi lockdown in 2020–2021.

When the public announcement of the proof of a famous unsolved problem on π turned out to be short-lived, because the result was later found to contain grave errors.
Mathematicians worldwide were excited to hear that the number (π + e) has been proved to be transcendental (i.e., its value can’t be the root of an algebraic equation with rational coefficients), but the news was nothing but a pi moment.

It would take a Pi-Head to know how far pi has been expanded by today's super computers
