A simple technique or know how that will make your life easier; However, this meaning has been blurred to instead be a blanket term for crafts and creations that would seem to be helpful on paper but in practice would be more costly, expensive and worse than just doing it the normal way.

Old meaning of life hack: You can set fires more easily when using dry kindling such as dry paper and leaves

Life hack's meaning today: Hide your USB by gluing it into a lipstick stick!
