Hurry up and wait

The act of being rushed to be somewhere at an exact time, only to get there and wait a considerable amount of time for the other party/event to happen. Very common practice among doctors, strict grandmothers, and ESPECIALLY drug dealers.

Friend: Man, you said you were on your way an hour ago!

Me: I know, sorry, I'm meeting up with Ronnie for some party favors and she said be at McDonalds by 5. Hurry up and wait, I swear this always happens with her.

fuck you wait

The amount of time a parent spends waiting for their child to conform to a parental expectation or rule.

Mother (to father): "What took you so long?"

Father (to mother): "If I have to sit through another fuck you wait, I'm going to ground her til next century. I had to text her five times before she finally came to the car."

Waiting for the dust to settle.

As many think of today for some atmospheric clearance of waiting for the dust to settle, it is actually a moment for grief. That time shared and spent during the moments of having someones ashes and the distance it takes till that dust settles to move on.

Sad Joan recently lost her beloved dog. A pet she was always walking everyday, seen by everyone, and spoken to as their nearest and dearest.

Having a cremation for her long lost pet, she carefully placed the ashes upon her mantle piece.
Each day as her closest friends paid their respectful concerns, as they were waiting for the dust to settle. Then the days were becoming brighter again.
