Mainstream Media

A pejorative used by dumb right-wingers that get their information through Facebook memes and YouTube conspiracy theorists

I hate to break it to you, hillbilly, but credible sources that actually fact check are a part of the mainstream media

new media

A buzz word coined by morning news host (like katie couric) to refer to "new" mediums of media.

When the printing press was invented, word of mouth was the old media and newspapers were the new media.

When television was invented, newspapers were the old media and the 6:00 news was the new media.

Currently newspapers, tv news etc. is the old media and the internet is the new media.

Mainstream Media

A common form of worldwide brainwashing which influences weak-willed people across the globe and is committed to spreading propoganda and fake news. Whether they’re left-wing or right-wing, the rats in charge of these organizations are cowards who simply yearn to watch the world burn in order to make a quick buck.

Never trust them.

CNN: β€œI’M OFFENDED, HOW DARE YOU SPEAK YOUR OPINION.”

FOX NEWS: β€œIT’S NOT MAKING ME ENOUGH MONEY, SO IT HAS TO GO.”

Sane Individual: β€œTake all mainstream media gossip with a grain of salt and think for yourself. Always speak your mind (in an appropriate setting), and make a living doing what you love, β€”but remain humble and don’t be greedy.”

populist media

News and TV in which regular people are shown instead of actors and/or unusually good-looking people, such as when you see fatasses at the gas station on the nightly news.

"That woman has one fat ass."
"Well it is the populist media."

Legacy Media

"Legacy media" is politi-speak that political conservatives use to identify long-standing ("mature") media outlets (such as the TV news networks - ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, etc., and the major print news services - New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times., etc.) Typically, these ostensibly "left-wing" news outlets are critical of conservative political agendas. Why the conservative wordsmiths use "legacy media" instead of "liberal media" is a mystery. Perhaps they feel that the term "liberal media" has been kicked around too long and needs replacement.
liberal elite

"Many in the legacy media love mass shootings (because of the TV ratings they garner)."
Dana Loesch, spokesperson for the National Rifle Association, in a speech before the American Conservative Society, February 22, 2018.
