cheerleading

Competitive cheerleading is a sport. Requiring actual physical training. Rather than high school cheerleading. Which is not a sport.Which consists of teenage girls, jumping around, tring (yes, trying) to do the splits&herkys and whatnot. High school cheerleading, a sport. Competitve cheerleading, not.

Jim*disguisted*: Dude, look at those cheerleaders.

Jenny: They can't even do toe touches or splits!

Shawn: I don't understand cheerleading is considered a sport in our high school!

Maria:It's not a sport. Not high school at least. Competitive is a different story!

Jim&Shawn: You can say that again!

cheerleader

A cheerleader can be male or female. He or She is required to have the ability to do gymnastics, jumps, motions and various other things. He/She must be flexible and have a final grade of A at the minimum, and he/she must have nearly perfect attendance. Cheerleading is easily one of the most dangerous sports in the world.

There are several different types of cheerleading squads:
Large Coed (a team of at least 17 male and female athletes highschool).
Small Coed (a team of less than 17 male and female athletes highschool).
Large Varsity (a team of at least 17 female athletes highschool).
Small Varsity ( a team of less than 17 female athletes highschool).
University (a team with athlete's over the age of 18 university/college).
All-Star (a team of athletes of any age.. there are usually less stunting restrictions on a team in this category elementary/ jr.high/ highschool/ university/ college).
Pom (a team of male and female athletes with the ability to dance and jump. A pom team will include pom-poms. jr.high/highschool).

To be a cheerleader you must have a large amount of self-respect and pride, otherwise you will most likely be booted off your squad. All the other steriotypical definitions of cheerleaders are without a doubt 100% untrue. I would know..I am on one of the best teams in North America.

Cheerleader's Requirements:
Tumbling Requirement Example (depending on what teams you try out for): round-off back-handspring back-tuck
round-off back-handspring full-twistinglayout

Jump Requirement Example: Toe-Touch with legs 180 degrees

Stunting Requirement Example: Toss-Hands touch-and-go (to extention) bow-and-arrow double down

cheerleaders

ok, fucking assholes whoev. you are.
you people think cheerleaders are slutty, popular(obv., we are) and rich and stupid. but we are not. we have fellings too. we hangout with only our click because we practice like 5 times a day, and those are the people who we just come in a package with. we go to competitions together and stay at hotels and party all night unlike boring nerds. bahahahhahahah. we have sleepovers like there is no tommorow. thats just the way we roll. there is no (stereotype) cheerleader, we are all different! everyone thinks that we have short little skirts and slutty tops but we dont. we just cheer because its fun and i rather be up and doing something then sitting on the couch all day or kicking, strowing, batting, and bouncing around balls all day, thats just plain old boring. think about it.

cheerleaders are nice loving people.

cheerleader

Cheerleading is a gymnastic sport, the players consisting mainly of females of all different beliefs, personalities and backgrounds. Cheerleading has the unfortunate weight of male supression upon it, discouraging female diversity and cooperation. Overall, cheerleading encourages teamwork, health, fitness, and good grades.

Quote from definition #17: "Is it just me, or are cheerleaders getting uglier every year at this school?"

My reply: It's just you.

cheerleader

1. someone who has put their energy and spirit into cheers not to mention hard work and practice.
2. so you know one cheerleader and you think you know us all? that makes you ignorant. But it's ok I can't hear you over Metallica. Maybe you can try to increase your vocabulary to words that have more than four letters instead of throwing around the same immature things: slut, fuck, etc.

some people act bitchy, some act slutty, people aren't all nice and perfect, get over it instead of trying to blame it on the fact that they wear a uniform.

cheerleading

cheerleading is officially a sport, and where i cheer we are not aloud to wear make up, and we do sweat, we lift weights and people(and yeah they do weigh more than 100) we break backs necks and bones no one ever knew we had. we dedicate most of our lives to cheering, we have to maintain higher than a C average(thats when you try out too) and most after noons are spent in either a not air conditioned gym or 108 degree weather, not aloud to wear shorts shorter than your finger tips and only t-shirts. if your late? you run for 1.5 an hour and do push ups for the next half, or longer until your coach is sick of looking at you and sends you home. water break? yeah right. anorexic not even. all the cheerleaders i know are the most greedy people, EVER. Your not aloud to date the football players. Or basketball players. no talking in line. no suspinsions or detentions or warnings. NOTHING. cheerleading is harder than anyother sport. oh and it last more than a season, ITS A YEAR THING. so before you say cheerleading isnt a sport do it for about a year then see what you think about it.

Cheerleading isn't just jumping around being cute yelling go team go. it envolves dedication and sweat.
