A genre of horror, thriller, or suspense media, particularly motion picture films or video games, of low creative form, design, production value, writing, deriving it's elements from widely popular works of previously made fiction, or figures fictional or real of notoriety. Generally, this genre encompasses works of media that try to derive subject matters from nostalgia or from properties originally designed for children, in an attempt to feign doing something "edgy" or "different" or "meta", but do this to ride the coat tails and reputation of the property it takes after.
