Forts Syndrome

An unhealthy obsession with the past and a refusal to live in the present. Symptoms include constant reminiscing about stories, people or events from college despite graduation having taken place in a different century than the one we now live in.

Dave has come down with a terminal case of Forts Syndrome. He spent the entire night on Facebook stalking his college hook-ups and sending them text messages asking if they were going to the MAAC tournament....they had moved on from 1998....sadly, he had not.

Pele syndrome

Megalomania; Extreme vanity and conceit; Pele syndrome is characterized by an inflated sense of self-esteem and overestimation by persons of their own powers.

An older name for the mental condition is narcissitic personality disorder. In extreme cases, a person with the Pele syndrome might refer to themselves in the third person (as Pele himself).

Muhammad Ali ("I am the greatest"), Cristiano Ronaldo ("I am rich, famous, and a great player") are the prime examples of people with the Pele syndrome.

Leaders of religious cults and dictators usually have the Pele syndrome.

Historically, Alexander the Great and Joseph Stalin are said to have the Pele syndrome.

The prime example of someone with the Pele syndrome is Pele himself. In the last 40 years he has regularly come out with such pronoucements as "I am the greatest", "I am still the greatest", "There will never be another Pele", and the nugget "Every kid around the world who plays soccer wants to be Pele".

Syndrome of a Down

System of a Down's retarded cousin band. Typically, the band is kept chained to the furnace in the basement when not on tour/field trip. Known for their colourful finger painted album covers, Syndrome of a Down is a vocal advocate for public acceptance of Velcro shoes, the destigmatization of sweat pants, and an end to cruel and unusual haircuts. Often their lyrics will focus on current issues of the day, such as having pooped one's pants, being given a time out, or not getting chocolate pudding for lunch. Syndrome of a Down's musical style has been likened to the sound one would expect to be caused by trying to cram a live cat down a toilet, bashing pots and pans together randomly, constant electrical feedback, and random guitar sounds, all of which are combined into some of the most horrendous "music" ever made.

Syndrome of a Down pulled up to the venue in their short bus. Once the handler had got them off the bus, they walked in together, each hanging on to the belt of the person in front of them. They then played their set, leaving the audience speechless and in a state resembling PTSD. After the show, the band went to McDonald's to celebrate a job well done.
