The awkward girl welcomed herself uninvited since nobody else had welcomed her, and many had even said no to her being there, even if she didn't take no as a legitimate answer. She was unwelcome to everyone but herself and pretended not to care what anybody thought about it, but hated being alone so much she desperately kept trying to get let in whether anyone else wanted her there or not.
