Although others claim to have started the movement some time earlier, the claims of these individuals are likely rooted in their prankster motivations as no substantial documentation esists except for their own self-authored articles and internet blogs, which only appear after the Funism Art Movement was established, copyrighted and publicized by Sal Marino, Founder at the beginning of the 21st century.
