We arrived at the concert posse thick.
1. When a group of guys do something crazy or stupid together making it look cool. Similar to the cheerleader effect.
The posse effect makes jumping off a bridge look cool.
When something stupid seems cool the more guys you have with you. Similar to the cheerleader effect. The more people the better.
Scooters look better when the posse effect os applied.

A large group of grad students at Penn State who drink away their worries every week (and usually multiple times per week) at a hole-in-the-wall bar. Generally only consists of science-minded grad students. (N.B. The "groovy" times do not always have to involve alcohol, and can, in fact, involve many different substances.)
