Corporate Rock

Often called "generic" by critics ( a.k.a. talentless attention whores that worship Nirvana ). In contrast with Nirvana (overrated band), it contains catchy tune which causes subliminal indulgence and direct to point message rather than overwritten lyrics (more like poems really), screams/whines/squeals and crappy musical accompaniment.

If you're a magazine editor promote "grunge" for marketing purposes. If you're a producer promote "corporate rock" for marketing purposes.

Classic Rock-Head

Also CRH.

Someone who only listens to Classic Rock and dislikes all modern music.

They usually listen to these bands

- Led Zeppelin
- The Beatles
- The Doors
- Pink Floyd
- The Who
- Jimi Hendrix
- AC/DC

They usually only listen to 2 or 3 of them regularly. Classic Rock-Heads condemn modern music when they probably never heard any due to them listening to Led Zeppelin all day. The only modern band they know of is Fall Out Boy, they usually never heard any of their music but condemn them because another Classic Rock-Head did.

Classic Rock-Heads believe any guitarist past 1990 has no talent. Therefore they have no interest in Tom Morello. They also think Velvet Revolver is bad and say Slash is bad now.

Although Classic Rock is good they think that no other music is good.

person: Check out this song
classic rock-head: Is it modern?
person: No its from the 70's
classic rock-head: Who is it? Its good!
person: Its The White Stripes, Jimmy Page was in that band.
classic rock-head: Awesome! This music rocks, but not as much as Led Zeppelin
person: Haha, its modern music! And the guitarist is Jack White!
classic rock-head: I knew it! I never liked it!

Post Modern Rock

A genre of music, really a supergenre, encompassing many other genres including indie rock, indiepop, twee, britpop, shoegazer, electronic, electro, glitchpop, some singer/songwriter, lo-fi, and older genres including punk, new wave and Madchester. Former terms were "Modern Rock" or "Alternative," but these became obsolete when their meaning was corroded circa 1992. They then became used to describe corporate nu-rock.

Record store clerk 1: "So, I listen to a lot of bands. Like, Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie, Ballboy, Doves, My Bloody Valentine, Royksopp, Adult., Lali Puna, Denison Witmer, Daniel Johnston, The Ramones, The Clash, Talking Heads, New Order and Primal Scream, just to name a few. I feel like it's all one supergenre, but I don't know what you call it."

Record store clerk 2: "You'd call that Post Modern Rock."
