(verb) Coined by me, to "emo out" is to kill oneself.
(noun) The music that the whiny, bratty teenagers who wear their 8 year old sister's jeans, forget how to wash their hair, and get picked on so much in band class that they pretend like their going to slit their wrists but don't have the guts to actually go through with it, "enjoy." Of course, being scene kids (lovers of emo), they don't actually enjoy the music.
They listen to music written by others like them because the grease from their unwashed hair seeps into their ears and clogs the passages, making it impossible for any noise to get past, other than the voices of other wankers like them.
(verb) I wish that damn kid with the hair in his eyes would emo out already.

well, emos are often confused with goths and people most people think that just cuz they have black hair with long bangs and cuts themselves but this is very, very wrong.
emo people hate life, cut themselves and usually have great hair. true emos don't cut themselves for attention, like those fucktard preps who cut themselves, they cut themselves because if they don't, their world will turn upside down and there life will suck. another thing about emos is they aren't pussies like those stupid metalheads think they are. all the emos i know are just as freaking hardcore as any metalhead. and emos are usually way cooler and less dark than everyone thinks, cuz if you actually get to know them they will never hurt you, only themselves and don't even try to make them stop hurting themselves cuz they won't.
I know this emo guy and he's not as retarded as everyone thinks.

A genre of music that appeals to most people, even though some people try to hide that they like it because they are afraid of expressing themselves as emos do. This music is semi punk music but of a softer tone, some popular groups are Taking Back Sunday, Death Cab for Cutie, and Hawthorne Heights. Also, a "group" of people who tend to dress dark, simalar to goths, but their clothes tend to be tighter and sometimes have more color, though mostly black is worn. They wear eye-liner and some wear eye-shadow, be them guy or girl. People like to make fun of these people but usually this is just a sign that they are insecure with themselves and who they are so they tend to lash out at those who are comfortable with expressing themselves, and lack these problems because they do not try to be something they are not. Emos hair styles are usually very odd, but nicely so... like mine. ^_^ Emos tend to cover their eyes or face with their long, beautiful bangs and usually keep it at an angle. This is very popular and for good reason. Emos rule, and one day they will rule YOU!

emo is thought to be someone who wears tight pants and cries and blah blah blah. (see 46,000,000,000 other definitions)
emo isn't a fucking kid who cuts him/her self. that would be a mental person.
stop bashing people who simply like to wear darker colours or think that sometimes his/her life doesnt go quite according to plan. they have lives like you. let them do whatever the fuck they want with it.
oh, and ignore the kids that call themselves emo and try to cut themselves for attention- they'll get over themselves.
friend one: OMG look at that emo kid over there with the tight pants and black long hair!
friend two: eww... i'll bet nobody likes him and he goes home every night and cries and cuts himself.

emo is not kids trying to be cool and faking everything
they have a reason to be depressed
they are just like everyone else so stop judging them
emo people: longish black/dark hair with highlights of a different colour like red or red with black or whatever and fridge covering one eye. tight girl jeans, make-up and maybe a lip piercing and of course CONVERSE! and they have a very good reason to be depressed. maybe they had something done to them when they were little.
not all emos cut themselves.
and the ones that do cut themselves to try and get rid of the pain they have on the inside.
and sure they may want to die at times but who doesn't?
the music they listen to has a meaning to it. it's written by the band/artist and sung by them so they understand it all unlike the pop crap and stuff everyone listens to that other people wrote.
they like music like: my chemical romance, taking back sunday (who are not pop/rock crap they are very good), the used, the all american rejects(which are getting too popish now), fall out boy (who are also getting too popish), lostprophets, from first to last, hawthorne heights and loads more.
they wear black but that doesn't make them goths or gothic everyone wears black. black goes with everything and doesn't show dirt(that's why new yorkers wear it a lot) they also wear red and purple and pink and green and everyother colour you can think of.
they wear a lot of bracelets and sweat bands but that's to hide their scars that are there because they are trying to escape the pain they have on the inside.
yes they do take alot of pictures of themselves. describe them as camerawhores if you must. they just like the camera.
they are not looking for attention. well not all of them. some might be because they didn't/don't get any at home and their parents don't care.
they do not bleed black. it's just a figure of speech about how they feel.
and yes they cry alot. but isn't it better to get them out then holding them back and getting worse? tears are the words the heart can't speak. they are away of letting everything out without hurting yourself or anyone else.
maybe emo is become overly used and more people are it. but maybe that's because of how the world is now.
and maybe they are mostly white people. maybe white people just have a worse life than anyone else.
emos are very random and like weird things.
they are NOT druggies or whores or whatever. well most of them aren't

A 1980s subgenre of hardcore punk with actual talent involved, with a missing plothole somewhere in the script of time that somehow led to a modern subculture that has nothing to do with the musical genre whatsoever.
Since when did emo go from underground punk music to wearing a whore-load of make-up and dressing up in clothing that doesn't fit, while listening to pop-punk and crappy metalcore?

Emo means emotional.
A lot of people show their emotions very strongly, therefore they are emotional, or emo for short.
Not all emo's cut and complain about life. Not all emo's want to end there life. MTV has filled you head with lies. Some emo's do want to die, and some want to cut, but not every single emo wants to die. I just wanted to clear things up a bit for people who think all emo's cut.
I'm emo, but I don't want to die or cut myself. I love live and I don't want to end it.
