NU METAL is much better than metallica because the times have changed and people want something new. its human nature

A newer type of "heavy" music that is not really metal for a large number of reasons
1. Metal has always been associated with wild solos, musical proficiencey, TALENT, etc. Nu metal lacks in this regard
2.People who listen to this are usually fat and ugly teens and are therefore depressed. You know how people cut themselves to "relive pain?" Thats what they must be doing mutilating themselves with horrible music.
3. however, many people think all teens are into this shit; I am a teen, but i am thin and sexy, and am also amazingly good at the guitar. I listen to real metal- Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metallica, Priest, Manowar, etc.
4. Not all new bands are Nu Metal (and consequencially crappy) ie. Children of Bodom who totally rule because.... They have talent!!!
Everyone who defends Nu-Metal has nothing in life to hold on to anymore, and therefore are attracted to fellow lowlifes that are Nu-Metal bands.

This music genre was summoned by a level 60 Sony UMG shaman and then hurled upon the masses by appearing in movies such as brokeback mountain.
Andrew Loyd Weber, Guy Ritchie, Nina Simone, Newton-John. Nu Hardcore is gay.

Well it all started when Anthrax teamed with Public Enemy with there song Bring the Noize in my opinion started the nu metal genre. Its a combination of rap and metal, probably not a very good idea from what I read. It may not be real metal, but it's better than regular rap, with guitars. Not a fan of it, but a few bands I don't have a problem with, Slipknot, Disturded, System of a down, Kittie. They may not be metal in you opinion, but there are talented.

an insult to proper metal. This new stuff is shit. People need to lsiten to the older stuff. It is miles better than this crap. These guys need to listen to proper metal! Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue all pwn nu-metal

Nu metal means new metal. Just like Metallica and Slayer was in the beginning of the 80's. I think it was good that some of the Nu metal bands came. Metallica was good in the 80's, but after that they sucked pretty hard. Nu metal saved metal from being worn out. But most Nu metal band sucks today too. Korn and Slipknot are the best nu metal bands, but I don't like to call them that, cuz they don't sound like eachother or like Linkin Park or Limp Bizkit(who sucks harder than anything else that's called metal) at all.. Only three bands from the 80's are good:
Metallica (the four first albums)
Slayer
Iron Maiden.
And new bands that are good:
Korn, Slipknot, Disturbed, Static-X, Marilyn Manson.
But maybe some of these bands are gonna suck some day too, like Metallica do today.
Many of Korn and Slipknots fans listen to old metal too. And my daddy (41 years old) like some of Korns songs, and some of Slipknots songs, and some Marilyn Manson-songs. But he usually listen to Metallica, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Judas Priest, and bands like that.
Slipknot was opening band for Metallica once, and most of the audience liked it. And Slipknot toured with Slayer, and the slayer-fans liked Slipknot.
But I do agree that many Nu metal bands sucks (Linkin park, limp bizkit, deftones and alot of others)
Old metaller: Slipknot and Korn sucks!
New metaller: Okey, but I bet you haven't heard any other song than what's on MTV.

a genre of music that is held in low regards by most true metal fans. Nu metal bands are not nessecarily sell-outs or wannabe's, its just the image that is shown by bands such as linkin park, there are how ever nu metal bands that make proper music. A great example of this is Deftones, who played a large part in the pioneering of the genre. One of the few talented nu metal bands left, is a true example of Nu metal
