The Weak-end Effect

When you are mentally stressed and physically exhausted, because you can’t think and move, preferring to lie down to rest your out-of-shape body, while constantly worrying how you are going to meet those ridiculous deadlines come Monday.

Jessie sought counselling because she’s suffering from the weak-end effectβ€”she wants to take back her 48 hours for herself and for her family, instead of letting her job take a toll on what used to be her free timeβ€”the weekend.

The Paul Varjak Effect

The Paul Varjak Effect refers to the character Paul Varjak from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) played by George Peppard, and the way he goes from being absolutely dreadful to being absolutely gorgeous throughout the movie.

this is then used to referring to similar men; going from ugly to not ugly or not likeable to likeable. this term can apply to any men, and men only.

examples can also be: "george is such a paul varjak!" or "fred is paul varjak-ing it!"

"that man was so ugly in the beginning, but now i quite like him. he's working the paul varjak effect"

"oh i see what's going on here! it's the paul varjak effect!"

kick-the-dog effect

The angry behaviour shown by a person when he has to accept all blame and he cannot shift it to anybody else because he is in the lowest rung of hierarchy in his organization. This happens when a boss, who is to blame, shifts the blame to his junior, who, in turn, passes it to his junior and so on till the blame reaches the lowest-ranked staff, who cannot pass it to anybody else. Then he goes home and takes it out on his dog by kicking it about.

Angry at having to bear the blame for no fault of his, the peon came back home in the evening and kicked his dog repeatedly. A kick-the-dog effect, isn't it?

Loki Nyman Effect

The observed chronological disparity seen in an object travenling to another dimension via trans-dimensional wormhole. Total time elapsed is dependant on the distance of the dimension. Typically, the further it is, the longer it takes (usually approximately 6 hours earth time to travel from one dimension to the next), although to the object traveling in the wormhole in question, no time seems to have elapsed (as one would experience traveling through a wormhole, trans-dimensional or otherwise).

If you dont understand the Loki Nyman Effect, dont worry...there arent that many humans that do.
