Example 1 - third-generation Italian enthusiastically celebrating the English national football team losing.
Example 2 - proudly being British up until Andy Murray plays tennis, and then you're English, and you've formed an emotional alliance with *insert origin of opponent*
Example 3 - when arguing, we can't give foreign aid when we have people on food banks, having only just voted for austerity and cuts in welfare

The history teacher delivered a hatriotic, xenophobic, slightly racist, lesson on how the Empire had liberated it's subjects from around the globe.

Hatriotism

I'm starting a petition.

Hatriotism is an emotional attachment to a nation which an individual recognizes as their homeland. This attachment, also known as national feeling or national pride, can be viewed in terms of different features relating to one's own nation, including ethnic, cultural, political or historical aspects. It encompasses a set of concepts closely related to those of nationalism.123 An excess of patriotism in the defense of a nation is called chauvinism; another related term is jingoism.
