Kentucky

the most Southern of Northern States. A lot of people in the Deep South seem to hate us; but many upper Northerners make fun of us as if we are a joke. Well, the latter is quite uninformed. They apparently do not know that we were on their side during the Civil War, as well as about 45% or more of the state population being Unionist, and hating (me) or disagreeing with the idea of the Southern Confederacy today. In addition the "official" Northerners do not realize that Pennsylvanians travelled down the Ohio River to settle much of northern and western Kentucky. Even a few New Yorkers made their new homes in the Commonwealth.

People think that we are the South because they don't realize that there is Southern influence (influence being the keyword) here, which is moderated by the sister states of Indiana and Ohio to the North. Missouri and Illinois are both full of Southern influence and are on a lower line of latitude than us, but they call it the Midwest. Why wouldn't that make us the same.

Kentucky

A commonwealth located in the Southeastern United States (excluding north of Louisville which is considered the Midwest) known for fried chicken, the Kentucky Derby and bourbon. They have two colleges that are well known for their basketball programs (Louisville and Kentucky) that had a deep rivalry since the 1800s.

The location of Kentucky is quite controversial however. Yankees call it a Southern state, but southerners call it a Midwestern state due to its location and the fact that they didn't secede from the Union. I personally consider most of the commonwealth apart of the south, but this varies from person to person.

Louisville, Lexington and Bowling Green are the state's biggest cities and the state has 120 counties total which is the 4th highest in the US behind Texas (254), Georgia (159) and Virginia (133).

Most of the people here are pretty nice, however, some areas can have some dry patches. I would recommend visiting here during the late spring through mid/late fall because that's when most things are open.

George Clooney, Jennifer Lawrence, Jack Harlow and Bill Ray Cyrus were all born and raised in Kentucky.

Kentucky

A state filled with mindlessly-religious, hypocritical people. If you don't believe in their God watch out.

"Welcome to Kentucky. What church do you go to?"
"I don't go to church."
"You will burn in hell!"

Kentucky

A half-Midwestern/half-Southern state in the Ohio River Valley. This is a pretty good state that has a rich history and was a far more Unionist, not Confederate, state during the Civil War. Yet many people, but definetely not all, try to act and appear like they are pro-Southerners, mant of those people being rednecks. This is why a great majority of people see the whole state as Appalachia, full of incest and bare-footed hillbilly culture. Despite all the negative things there, Kentucky is a great state. It was orignally settled by people from both Virginia and Pennsylvania. It has 4 metropolitan statistical areas: Louisville, Lexington, Owensboro, and Covington.

Kentucky is supposed to be a pro-Unionist Midwestern state who does most of its business with Indiana and Ohio.
