Typically belief in or study of the action or influence of supernatural or supernormal powers. UFO's are examples of the supernatural, the unknown and mystical. Watching movies like the Avengers are simply fiction entertainment but the concepts of supernatural beings and superhuman powers are elements of occultism and and otherworldly.
I enjoyed the action in the movie but the premise of superhuman powers I found occultic.
