paper architect

Someone whose work is purely theoretical, having never come to fruition, or has never been exemplified by anything in the real world.

"He was a tenured professor of architecture—a position buttressed by his renown as a 'paper architect.'
That is to say, he was an esteemed architect whose reputation rested on his designs, rather than on the buildings constructed from them."
Asterios Polyp, by David Mazzucchelli

Ar. Architect

a term used to denote a lame Indian architect who is obsessed with his Ar. prefix and use it as his first name in every social media profiles. He also constantly blames Engineers and Diploma Holders to hide his incompetent and mediocre skills in Architecture. Also believes architecture is above all and the best profession in the world and he must be respected for that.

Look at this ugly building, this must be designed by an Ar. Architect

He lost bid to that project, now he blames the engineers, such an Ar. Architect

Solutions Architect

Solutions Architect is one of a number of job titles used for someone working in IT who has no real function.

Solutions Architects wander around looking important and can often be seen in meetings although no one is quite sure why they are there.

John: That guy in the meeting just now. Any idea who he was and why he was there?

Sue: That was Jim. He's a Solutions Architect

John: Ah right.

Architect Jenga

When you take the Jenga blocks and create your own tower with them. It takes more skill than regular Jenga since everybody doesn't know where the structurally unimportant blocks are. It also takes skill to create the tower, instead of just turning the container upside down.

Harry: Wow, that looks pretty cool.

Tom: You haven't played Architect Jenga before?

pigeon architect

A software architect who swoops in, deposits a mess, and flies away leaving the development team to clean up.

The company's new pigeon architect just shat on my project.

Architect’s Guilt

Very similar to Catholic Guilt in principle; but applied to emotionally driven architects who always feel the need to solve every problem, fall on every sword the project encounters, stay late at work and defer life and family events, and put work and worry first. The feeling of never working hard and king enough.

Honey, I have to stay late and work this weekend because I’m not sure the team is ready to release drawings for this project. You take the family on vacation to paradise and I’ll try and call you when I can. My architect’s guilt always ruins our family plans...

Social Architect

A person who designs, devises, or constructs social interactions with a predetermined goal in mind. For example, if one such architect sought to maximize his or her sex appeal, or rather more generally their value, one would direct the flow of conversation in such a manner that portrayed the architect as one with the highest level of value, while also lowering the value of others to further elevate himself/herself. That being said, the goal of each individual architect may vary from simply "getting laid" to engineering the perspective of a generation.

Wow, that guy is acting like a Social Architect.
