Another form of who, used for asking which person receives an action
"He, whom I respect, was a great person."
"The person whom I love is now living with me."
1. An antiquated relic of the complex grammar of the English language which is quickly fading from usage due to the ever ongoing simplification of language in actual use. In older usage, the object form of the pronoun "who".
2. A symbol of pomp, used as a feeble attempt to show superior intellect and social status.
A: "You'll never guess who I'm taking to prom!"
B: "Don't you mean 'whom' you're taking to prom?"
A: "This is why you still don't have a date."
In some cases, "whom" is used instead of "who" if the speaker is a dipshit.
Do not attempt to correct a whom-sayer, though as they may begin to read their self-written essay they always have on hand about how uneducated you are for not speaking in a way no non-dipshit has spoken since the Victorian age.
"To whom it may concern..." -A dipshit
"I would rather read an email that starts by calling me a slur than one that calls me "whom"." -Abraham Lincoln
