A word used in comic book reading circles to refer to specifically refer to a character being a superhero.
I.E. Superman, Spider-Man or Batman
Actually wearing a cape is not really needed. But the standard, Dresses up. secret identity, fights crime deal is what is what it is actually referring to.
Often used by detractors who have a distaste for the genre as a means of separating it from themselves as comic fans. But not always. Sometimes its just used when categorised it from other comic types like Horror or Drama.
Its not that I hate capes I just prefer reading stories like Morning Glories or about characters like John Constantine.

Cape Saint Claire. A Neighborhood in Annapolis MD, where dozens of little white boys try their hardest to be black. They wish they lived in Baltimore, although don't have any real idea of what it would be like. Some carry guns thinking they are cool. Some do Coke. Most of all they are all Wiggers.
