Rage Against The Machine, the worst rock band ever that ruined Christmas only because they think that we dont really like X Factor winners and we are brainwashed.
I was getting bored of X Factor winners getting Christmas number 1 but really couldnt they have picked something nicer?
RATM, a rockband hardly anyone has ever heard of until late 2009, they are angry losers who shout and swear and sing about killing in their only really known song "Killing in the name" I think most people probably believe they where just a one hit wonder.
To all the people that gives this thumbs down are just miserable losers that like Rage.

Hard-rock/hip hop band formed in 1992. Members included Zach De La Rocha (vocals), Tom Morello (guitar), Tim Commerford (bass) and Brad Wilk (drums). Famous for being one of the few rap-rock bands that actually had talent. Combining De La Rocha's dynamic leftist vocals with the grinding sound of Commerford's bass, their 1st album, the self-titled "Rage Against The Machine" was a huge hit in the USA, and featured large amounts of airplay. The band was criticised by their decision to sign for EPIC records, because of their anger towards large corporations, however Tom Morello stated that without a major record label, they wouldn't be able to get their message across to as many people, which was really their target. The song "Wake Up" was featured on the credits to The Matrix, and the track "Killing In The Name" is on GTA: San Andreas.
In 1996 the band released their second album, "Evil Empire", which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 in America. The album's title draws on a label, "evil empire" used by former U.S. President Ronald Reagan and many Western conservatives in describing the former Soviet Union.
The band released "Live and Rare", a mixture of live tracks and non-album covers, in 1998. In 1999 they released "The Battle of Los Angeles", once again reaching the top spot on the Billboard Chart. It featured the tracks "Guerilla Radio" which was on Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2, and "Calm Like A Bomb" was on the credits of The Matrix Reloaded. The album has a much heavier sound than what was featured on their 1992 and 1996 offerings. Many Rage fans dislikled this, as it was felt that the band was moving too far towards the Nu-metal genre.
Zach De La Rocha also felt this, and after releasing "Renegades", a CD of covers of various artists, he left the band. He was also fuelled by the incident at the MTV awards in 2000, after which Tim Commerford spent a night in an LA jail. Many people believed that Rage split up over a row about money, but whatever the reason, at least they finished when the still had credability. "The Battle of Los Angeles" wasn't a poor album, but it was nowhere near matching their self-titled debut. Had they have made a bad album after "The Battle of Los Angeles" then they might not still be as popular as they are today.
Morello, Commerford and Wilk joined with ex-Soundgarden singer, Chris Cornell, to form Audioslave. They are currently writing their third album after two very good releases. Their first album, "Audioslave", reached the #7 spot on the Billboard charts in 2002, whereas "Out Of Exile" debuted at #1 in 2005.

(n.) 90's band who captivated audiences with catchy tunes and a communist agenda. Those who are not tools of the liberal media will notice that thier lyrics and political ideas are absolute shit, while they are highly marketable because the average metal fan goes through a stage in thier early teens where they believe communism will save the world from the people they hate.
"Fuck the rich coporations" is what the say, but they end it at giving head.

(3/4 in an ok band called audioslave) RATM are one of the most under rated yet greatest bands ever, anyone who says they never did anything to change things obviously has no clue wat there talkin about, protests, rallies etc yes they may have sold records but in the capitalist world the only option (sadly is money) they got noticed due to this. Rage rule anyone who says otherwise needs there head examined. nuff sed!!

One of the most overrated bands in history. They got popular because they pushed left winged propaganda as shallow as the water in my toilet. Same as the Sex Pistols. That band 100% fucking sucked ass. They just got popular because they where so rebellious, something kids in their teenage years seem to love.
They also introduced the Che Guevara image to the kiddies. So we should thank them for the fact that people wear this cold-blooded murderer piece of shit that luckily got executed on their shirts these days.
Tom Morello was their lead guitar player, also way overrated. I hear that people call him the 'best guitar player ever'. Again, total bullshit. Hendrix, Van Halen, Gilmore and Jimmy Page's shoes have more talent then this guy. If you played the guitar yourself, you'd understand. All his neat solo's sound cool because they come out of stomp boxes you can buy in every music store. Really. This guy has the biggest effects chain i've ever seen.
This band proved that you don't need talent to become famous. If you make music that takes a piss on the govnerment and is left winged in general, there is a way bigger chance of success than if you acually have talent, but don't write songs about politics.
"greatest band ever?". Yea right. Led Zeppelin, RHCP, The Beatles, The Stones, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, The Who, Tony Joe White, The Zombies, Tom Petty....(i could continue forever) Happen to forget about those?
