A charictor from the show My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. She is the ruler of all of Equestria along with her sister Princess Luna. Celestia is responsible for raseing and lowering the Sun each day.
More than 1000 years ago she was faced with the tough task of having to exile her sister Luna after she had fallen to darkness because she felt like no one loved her. Because of this Celestia is often portrayed in the Brony fandom as being a troll who sends people to the Moon for fun. This is known as Trollestia
Thanks to a popular fanfic, Celestia is also seen as a molester known as Molestia. Because she had to exile her sister to the moon and rule alone for a 1000 years, she is automatically deemed a Tyrant, even when no one can prove so.
She has her own faction of the Brony fandom called the Solar Empire and along with her sisters fan faction the New Lunar Republic, continue to be a strong debate among bronies.
From what i have observed in Season 1 and 2. I don't see why people make Princess Celestia to be so negative. I don't see the need as to why people do so.

This is a certain behavior that many females have, that stems from a young age. It starts out with just a cute, lets say 6 year old girl, who is constantly told 'she is beautiful' by her parents and environment, and is treated like a princess as long as she behaves. This might happen throughout all her years of growing up; she's called 'the most beautiful girl in the class' or is made to feel like she is 'what every guy wants'. In the end, she will have a long list of men that hit on her, but that she ended up rejecting.
The problem is if you 'have a crush' or 'fall in love' with one of these girls. Usually it will end by her 'breaking up' (at least the tension) by saying she's not really interested. The rejected man has to move on.
When a girl has princess syndrome, she's probably not worth going after.
Man I didn't realize it at first, but the girl i met last night definitely suffered from princess syndrome.

BubbleGum Princess (n.) - defined as a girl, usually in late teens or early twenties who believe that their presence on earth is a grace to all of mankind, and that wherever they may wander, a plush, velvety red carpet (usually sprinkled with glitter and/or petals of extremely exotic and rare, expensive flowers) should be infinitely rolled out to stretch beyond the reach of human eye for their pretty little feet adorned with all sorts of polish on manicured toes.
Heaven forbid a BubbleGum Princess not get her way, for all havoc and hell with be freed upon the realm of earth. A man will shrink inches, sometimes feet, to a small procurement of nothing taller than 2'' in height. It is VERY important to give her the way she desires, or you WILL be sorry.
The BubbleGum Princess species is one which requires continuous and constant attention from, usually a male species, that she hand selects herself and "zones in on". BubbleGum Princesses usually hand-select the members of the male species which dedicate the most attention and focus to them.
BubbleGum Princesses will also request constant communication by any technological means necessary, up to, but not including: Cellular, Landline, Skype, Text, and/or sometimes, email. If you find yourself in the path of beginning a relationship with a member of the BGP species, be sure to free up your agenda first.
The best way to satisfy a BGP is to pay her LOTS of attention (pretty much ALL of it), and ALWAYS listen as she speaks, for she will most likely ask you to repeat it, 9 times out of 10, verbatim.
If you find yourself in contact with a BGP, exercise extreme caution, as these creatures are like opposums, once they are agitated, you've pretty much screwed yourself into getting clawed/bitten to death.
