An overused, overrated, society-destroying genre of music. Promotes murder, drugs, degrading women, and most of all, gang violence. Many rappers also enjoy spreading the word on how much their life blows. This includes Eminem. Jay-Z, Tupac etc. Are from an OLDER generation from music. The 80s. Stop looking at about 4-6 different rappers and telling me the whole genre is good. It's not. about 75% of the genre follows the rap stereotype (see above), therefor, the majority rules. Whereas rock, (classic rock, not modern punk emo garbage), everything (just about) sounds good. And it is VARIED. Each classic rock band has it's own sound. Then there is rap, where it's the same trash with a different voice EVERY time.
1st guy: Rock requires talent. You need to have band cooperation, as well as talent to write great lyrics, sing, and play actual instruments.
2nd guy: ya, but they need eachother to play together, otherwise they cant play, but lyricists and rappers dont need anybody, the talent is in thier lyrics and mind, unlike rockers who dont need a brain to scream, slam on drums, and smash guitars after a concert! at least rap has a beat and rythm!

Not only are you stereotyping, but you're stereotyping with a specific genre of rock that makes up about 10% of the rock genre. Classic rock bands do not scream. Smashing your instruments was a form of partying, just like having unprotected sex is with rap. Oh, and you're supposed to slam on drums... thats kind of you play them, moron. That, and rock has rythm, beat, and FAR more talent. Anyone can write a few words and unenthusiastically speak them in to a microphone.

A genre of "music", it is basicly uninspiring, shallow, and most the time stupid poetry said really fast and with tiny fluxuations in their vioce to make it catchy to the ear. Basicly, something everyone can do, and takes no talent what so ever. These words are run over by "highly trained" producers who bascily, to make a sick beat all they need to do is press 4 buttons and their done. Directed twards the black population, though white people for some reason seem to like it... (fuckin MTV)

If a Kellogs Corn Pops commercial can make a decent rap song, it takes no skill at all. Every other genre of music you have to have years of practice perfecting your instrument. I'd like to see Eminem or Tupac or any of them pick up a guitar and play one freaking cord of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird", the way they picked up a mic and became superstars.

Shit that should never have been thought up. Real music, like, say rock, for instance, is true, has emotions, and, well, rocks, but see, when you listen to rap, all you hear is crap made by computers and the person who made it probably can't sing, that's why their basically talking into a fucking microphone. All rap is is people, mostly black people, although some white (which is worse), talking about how "ghetto" they are, how they just screwed three girls, or, about the gun in their waistband, or wherever they put it. Rap is just an unfortunate thing that was brought on by people living in the ghetto and thought they needed a way to show off their culture, which, in reality, this world would have been better off without, this place is already screwed over enough. I'm not dissing people who listen to rap, because most of my friends do, but really, just listen to the freaking lyrics! And, not all rap is bad... it's just not my thing, if there are songs that don't have the words hoe, gun, grills (or whatever that is), ghetto, and so one, please tell me, I would be amazed!
I really wish that rap would just go away!

1.)A form of music that does not have much to do with race or class. Rap music was developed in the seventies and was mostly ruined after the death of Tupac Shakur.
2.)A way for rednecks to do a hillbilly dance around a bonfire making fun of black people.
3.)A way for black people on urbandictionary.com to say the only haters of rap music are rich white people.
4.)A very extreme musical genre hated on by many rock people who listen to the exact same lyrics screamed instead of spoken.
