Well sometimes "preps" are labeled such just because they wear "preppy" clothesi.e. A@E, Aero, Hollister (the only preppy place i will NEVER shop at) Abercrombie and fitch, and others which aren't on the top of my head.They aren't NECCESARILY shallow conceited bastards who wellow in their preppiness. ...But most of the time they are.

A wanna be but doesnt hav the money to be a true one is. A person who wants to be an true one but parents wont allow them to go to prepitory school.They wear Hollister, American Eagle, and Abercrombie & Fitch, Express,Armani Exchange. They might have expensive clothes too as, Burberry, J Crew, Juicy Coutoure, Lacoste, Gucci, Rock & Republic, True Religion, Seven, polo etc. but mostly wear hollister and the other things. They drive cars that are more than 30,000 like, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porche. They have the top cars and homes that you can imangine. Most preps have been out of the country more than anyone before the age of 18. Preps are known as Stuck-up Anorexic Bitchy Snobs that only care about their selves but itz not true if u know us. We vacation at ritzy Hotels and beaches or in a different country eating exotic foods, and looking for a 2nd,3rd,or even 6th house(knowing that i have 7 houses). Preps are members of country clubs and always hang and eat there. Being preppy is not a clothes style is a life style, a culture. A preppy boy is a model kid from them model family with the model life, living large with the model girl. Itz a model life that everyone want to have or iz just jelous because they dont have it.
I Cant wait untill i go to my beach house in florida.

the social group of people who wear abercrombie, american eagle, aerpostale, and so on. they also cant seem to create their own unique fashion or ideas, like they stole skate board shoes (the good kind, DC, Etnies, vans) from skaters, rap from black people (not a racist comment), and anything else that once belonged to a specific social group. they also think any one that doesnt participate in sports, wears black, hangs out with people who dress differently, are "goths".(trust me i am often a victim)

There are 2 kinds of preps: the "poor"-ish preps (who are not poor but actually middle class) who wear Abercrombie and Fitch and American Eagle... etc.... Then there are the really really rich 18-car-garage, Indian-Mountain-billionaire-heirs who wear things like Ralph Lauren, Izod, Lacoste..etc. Having attended a prep school(UGH!!!) for a year, i would say that I am an expert. Preps almost always own a puffy North Face jacket, in light colors (i.e. pastels). Some have blond highlights or wish they did. They commonly use phrases such as: "Oh, my God!" and "Dude", "Man" and they use like and um as sentence crutches because they need to figure out what they are going to say. There is always a popular phrase or word that is used constantly among an isolated group of preps that slowly works its way down the East Coast where preps normally reside. The current word at my school among the small group of preps is "sketchy". This word is used to describe anything from people to coffee. Prep girls are normally stupid and they play with thier hair. They usually get straight As anyway. Preps wear UGGS which are ugly. Preps always talk about hair days and what clothes they want. OR at least these subjects dominate most of thier conversations. Preps watch TV as a social thing. Shows such as The O.C. depict a lifestyle that preps wish they had. This is why they like watching them so much. Most prep girls are bitches and they talk about people behind their backs. (Think: Mean Girls)
PREP BOYS:
Prep Boys have flippy hair and they usually wear a baseball cap that is way back on their head and tilted up and slightly to the side. Cap wearing is an art. Prep boys want prep girls. Boys and Girls talk about each other as object to be "caught" and used to raise social status, not to make the couple happier. Rich-ness is a prep mentality. As long as you have the clothes it doesn't matter if you really are rich or not. Preps are all about appearance and surfaces, they are shallow. Preps suck, mostly. Preps are normally considered "popular" even if they do not have as many friends as other people do. They are popular in the sense that preps are depicted as popular in popular culture such as movies and books. Popularity and fitting in are very important to preps. God, I should write a paper on this. There are however, accidental preps, but that is another entry. My hands are getting tired.

prep is very easy to define. preps are kids who simply want to dress what's exactly in style, don't want to be weird in any way and embrace their stylish conformity. preps are the ones who try to look hot in their nex pictures. preps often face the hardship of coming to school wearing a new and trendy tshirt they got at american eagle and see another girl with exactly the same shirt on. preps don't want to be an individual. preps want to be popular as badly as emo kids want to be anti-conformist.
a prep loves nothing more than to go to the mall with her friends and buy lots of cute clothes for the sake of spending money, and work their way up the social monarchy of junior highschool and on.

I know that preps are those who wear lilly, lacoste,are rich, play tennis, golf, etc.. but honestly i prefer to be the one who wear a&f, ae, hco, etc cause i think being a real prep is boring. i'll stay with the "wrong" definition of prep

A prep is, quite possibly, the most annoying creature on the face of this earth. They tend to travel in packs and all seem to date eachother. They refuse to wear anything that isn't from Hollister, Abercrombie, Aeropostal, American Eagle, or Northface. They tend to be on the cheerleading team (girls) and the football team (guys). They are, inexplicably, very popular, but have no real friends. Preps talk about other preps behind their backs. They pretend to be everyone's friends, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see through someone as shallow as a prep. Preps get whatever they want from their parents and flaunt it in front of everyone else. They have no real talent and look down on everyone, including other preps. They walk REALLY slow in the hallways and listen to only mainstream music. Though they can be book smart, they are, under no circumstances, common sense smart. They enjoy drinking and drugs, and LOVE the country club. They are extreme narcissists and believe that, not only does everyone want to be them, everyone will love them. (not true) they tend to be sluts (guys and girls) and sleep with as many other preps as they can get.(It is extremely important to note that you can drown a prep by dropping a mirror in a pool)
to find a prep, walk into the mall and sit outside a hollister store. You'll see them.
