A common nickname for the Peticodiac River in New Brunswick, Canada. It is so called because it is a tidal river and the strong tidal action causes mud to get dredged up which gives the river a brown hue.
The City of Dieppe has recently used the name on an official building, the Chocolate River Conservatory.
"The tidal bore seems a bit stronger since they opened the causeway gates, but I don't think the old Chocolate River will ever fully recover."

The Charles River is a form of Jungle Juice that is made of roughly a half of bottle of Everclear, a half litter of Tequila, roughly 6 cans of light beer, a mixture of pink lemonade and yellow lemonade and some packets of sugar. It looks extremely nasty but it gets the job done. Also if you throw a condom in the mix it will look like The Charles River in Boston.

The River Thames, the river that runs through London, capital of the UK, and the main city of England, Great Britain and the British Isles.
This is a nautical or marine term, dating back many centuries, to the time when London was (one of) the main ports of England - see also Bristol - and many cargo ships berthed there.
Still in use in the 1980's, and probably beyond.
After over a year away on a British ship, seamen of all ranks would often get the 'Channels' as they passed between England and France, prior to ascending the London River and berthing in The Pool of London - and then paying off!
