When reality turns out to be night and day from a reasonable and logical guess of the
evidence.
The phrase refers the skull of a hippo, which to someone who had never seen the live animal, would
likely assumed it to look like Picture 1, and nowhere near the real animal (see link)

First seen in his song entitled "I Can't Drive 55" it describes the notion that it is physically impossible for Sammy Hagar to travel at the speed of 55 mph (miles per hour). No matter what mode of transportation whether it is a car, bike, airplane, etc, it is impossible for him to travel exactly 55 mph. The speedometer on any transportation device that Sammy Hagar occupies will never read the speed of 55 mph. Instead it will skip over 55 mph to 56 mph or 54 mph (depending on whether the vehicle is increasing or deceasing speed). Therefore, it is thought that perhaps Sammy Hagar possess some power that allows him to bend time and space to his will, but only at the speed of 55 mph. This act of bending time and space is currently being researched by Professor Stephen Hawking the British theoretical physicist.
I saw Sammy Hagar today in his car with one foot on the brake and one on the gas and i swear that he couldn't go 55 mph...its that damn Sammy Hagar paradox

When someone or something is repeatedly called overrated to the point that it becomes underrated by proxy.
Vince Carter was an NBA star who played well in his prime, but he had minimal playoff success and he alienated fans when he forced his way out of Toronto. Despite his stats, he never really elevated teams to that next level. As a result, fans often label him as one the most overrated players of all time. People don't appreciate how good of a player he was and he has arguably become underrated as a result.
Guy 1: Everyone I know says Avengers: Endgame was really overrated.
Guy 2: It can't be that overrated if EVERYONE says it is. It's the Vince Carter Paradox.
A paradox created when a girl wears a tight shirt to create an illusion of bigger breasts. Tighter the shirt, the bigger the breasts look. Essentially achieves the same effects of a push-up bra but different in a sense of novelty. Push-up bras are fucking noticeable but the tight shirt reaveals the actual size of their breasts.
For example, a girl who is a B-Cup might look like a C-Cup due to the T-Shirt Paradox. However, the paradox doesn't apply to A-Cups. No matter how tight the shirt is, their breasts still look like an A-Cup.

The 'greed-intelligence paradox' states that a person cannot be both greedy and intelligent because the two traits are mutually exclusive.
The 'greed-intelligence paradox' encompasses the more detailed 'greed-intelligence inverse correlation', which explains a lot about leaders and people.
The 'greed-intelligence inverse correlation' explains the 'generally true' relationships between levels of greed and overall intelligence within an individual: put simply, greedy people are not particularly intelligent, and intelligent people are not particularly greedy (this would be the general form of the 'greed-intelligence inverse correlation').
These are the 'generally true' statements of the 'greed-intelligence inverse correlation':
- The greedier a person is, the less intelligent that person is.
- The less greedy is a person is, the more intelligent that person is.
- The more intelligent a person is, the less greedy that person is.
- The less intelligent a person is, the more greedy that person is.
In one extreme case of this 'greed-intelligence inverse correlation', we know it is impossible to amass and hoard incredibly large amounts of monetary and material wealth or even want it, while also being a truly highly intelligent person. Highly intelligent people do not hoard money or stuff, they want to enjoy life and nature, and they want to share what they have with others. Truly intelligent people are also honest.
ex. Nikola Tesla was unquestionably the most overall intelligent person who ever lived. Tesla spoke 6 languages, invented the modern AC motor and the radio, and was the most prolific inventor of all time. Tesla lived and died dirt poor and in financial debt. Humanity owes Tesla a great debt of gratitude for the amount of freedom (and liberty from toil) his inventions have afforded mankind. Tesla was an extreme example of the validity of greed-intelligence paradox.
ex. International bankers profit from all major modern global military conflicts and wars --- promoting the killing of innocent people is financially profitable but not intelligent behaviour.
ex. The 'greed-intelligence paradox' explains that exclusively unintelligent people make up the class of incredibly wealthy people (the ruling class) on the planet, which explains why planet Earth is in such a mess from economic, environmental, moral and social perspectives. It is quite evident that wealthy unintelligent people are running and ruining the planet.
